Packaging Guidelines for Bake Sale Baked Goods

The baked goods should be pre-portioned and wrapped before delivery to the bake sale site.

All food containers should be new, food grade containers, such as paper, plastic or styrofoam plates and bowls, aluminum containers, plastic food bags, and plastic storage containers.

Clear, food grade cellophane should be used to cover plates or other containers that do not have a lid. Clear cellophane is recommended because it allows your customers to see the product better.

Colored cellophane is not recommended because is can make your baked goods look unappetizing and unidentifiable. Additionally, some county health departments specify using only clear cellophane.

If you want to add decorations to your packages you can things such as bows, ribbons, and tie-ons.
