Packaging Baked Goods for Bake Sales![]() Navigation: Main page Author: FundraisingBakesales.com You need to decide whether you will have your volunteer bakers portion and wrap the baked goods at their homes or whether they will deliver them to a designated site for portioning and wrapping. The type of bake sale you are having will help you decide on this. If you are having a themed sale you may want to wrap all the products in the same kind of containers. For example, if your theme is St. Patrick's Day you may want to purchase paper plates, ribbons, and cellophane that reflect that theme. You can ask your volunteers to deliver the products to you for wrapping or you can give them the supplies in advance and have them wrap them. You may also want to be able to portion and wrap the baked goods according to who you will be selling the baked goods to. For example, if you expect that customers will be eating the bakes goods right then and not taking them home you will want to portion them in single serving packages. For example, if you are selling treats outdoors at a walk-a-thon most likely no one will be buying whole cakes to take home. Conversely, if you are holding an annual holiday bake sale there will probably be buyers looking for whole pies and cakes.
